What does Family Access cover?
Five content modules scoped to the Family track from India to Germany, in sequence: an interactive Readiness Check across four constellations, the Matrix with 36 conditions, the Transition Map of six residence phases, the Renewal Pack for the extension, and 12 Scenarios for when something changes. Covers spouse and child reunification under the Aufenthaltsgesetz.
Is there a free preview?
Yes. The free family pathway self-check lets you walk through your situation and see which constellation fits and what's still open - no sign-up, no payment. It's a short taste of the full phase-by-phase Readiness Check inside Family Access. Orientation only, not legal advice.
Which constellations does it cover?
All four main routes: spouse of a skilled worker or Blue Card holder (the route with the fewest gates, because §30 Abs. 1 S. 3 Nr. 5 removes the A1 requirement and §29 Abs. 5 removes the housing test), §30 (spouse of another permit holder, where every condition applies), §28 (spouse of a German), and §32 (child reunification). Conditions and thresholds are mapped per constellation.
Can I work on a family permit?
Yes, and on every one of the four constellations. §27 Abs. 5 AufenthG entitles the holder of a residence permit issued for family reasons to take up any employment or self-employment, with no separate work permit required. This is often presented as a Blue Card privilege; it is not. What the sponsor's Blue Card or skilled-worker title does change is the language requirement and the housing test.
Is this legal advice?
No. bay.in provides structural information - legal references, thresholds, conditions, and trigger consequences as documented in the Aufenthaltsgesetz and current administrative practice. We do not represent applicants and do not provide individual case advice. For case-specific guidance, consult a licensed German Rechtsanwalt.
How current is the content?
All figures are set against the current 2026 position - the language gate and its exemptions, the SGB II reference for secured livelihood, housing guide values, the fee schedule in the Aufenthaltsverordnung, and the India document-verification procedure, which was digitised in March 2026 and where the Hague Apostille does not apply between Germany and India. Legal references point to the Aufenthaltsgesetz as in force, including the amendments of 12 June 2026. When figures or rules change, the affected modules are updated - included in your year of access.
How long is access valid?
12 months from purchase. One-time payment, no auto-renewal, no subscription. After 12 months, access ends unless you renew - you decide.
Can I switch to Study or Work later?
Yes. Each track is purchased separately, or you can choose Full Access for all three plus cross-track content. If you start with Family and later want Study or Work, you can purchase that track separately at the price valid at that time.
Who is this built for?
Indian applicants joining a spouse or parent in Germany - spouses and children across the §28, §30 and §32 routes. The content assumes no prior knowledge of German residence law but does not simplify the structure. If you want clarity before commitment, this is built for you.
